Step 4: Begin the Blu-ray Ripping process. I'm on wifi with this thing. The Qnap is not the most fastest setup but it was certainly good for most typical 1080p files. And it can run Kodi as well so you get that still too. For fun I tried sharing my blu-ray drive from my windows system.
The good news is that the Nvidia Shield supports hardware accelerated H. If you turn off the subtitles, does it play properly? Or run the Subtitle Download task and let it go look? The pq was the only reason I purchased the shield. The issue is that the type of internal subtitles this item has vobsub is unsupported in the player so it must transcode and burn these in to display them. Maybe I just don't have a discerning eye but I just don't see how the Shield is so inferior to other devices, especially as you say without even doing a side by side that it is that noticeable. And indeed, my first battery did last 12 months. I guess it is the only way.
If i have the shield attached to my network drive i assume the shield might be affected by the transfer speed between those two devices. This will not be on the regular beta stream for awhile. I am very disappointed to be having so many problems with playing 4k content on Shield. I don't know enough about these codecs to be able to troubleshoot the problem adequately. However, he said 4k Blu-ray so maybe he's doing something else.
Fix xbox home button mapping issue 4. Playing back at native format means no transcoding. While I still think the Shield is a good product, the Plex performance is a big letdown. Unfortunately, in the first log you sent Goodfellas you did so many things that I could not see the beginning of playback to tell me why the initial direct streaming failed. The drive will be recognized as a memory. If your server has to transcode and is under powered you will run into issues with buffering as you have seen.
Will I see it on the network in Windows 10? Microsoft is also working on a game stream service. If it's only another month, I'll once again be contacting Nvidia and bitching. I have done the usual steps to avoiding transcoding. Netflix and prime are both substantially worse picture quality than all our other streaming options. I did falsely assumed one could rip ultrahd in the future but i didn't know they could not be at this time.
I wanted to see if people have trouble playing back these high bitrate files via shield connected on a network drive. I'm not sure what was different this time. Apparently I am not having a problem. Annoying but can't you ignore it? Just curious, how much are you using the Nvidia remote? The bluray rips i have are ok for now but occasionally have some judder. Use typical Netflix, prime, hulu content. Netflix and prime are both substantially worse picture quality than all our other streaming options. This is very difficult as I have a bunch of Dolby Atmos demos as well as 5-10 videos and no way to know which is which except if I open them up or I can try to recognize which image at the beginning of the movie that the Shield decides to put on the file.
The key to limit Transcoding on the server is really the clients being used and what they can handle playing without the need for transcoding. The default skin in MrMc are atrocious and make it very annoying to fastforward, rewind, or jump to a scene. I feel like if a product supports it out the box with the native player, Plex should do all they can to support it in ExoPlayer. I'm running low on options here Ted. Obviously, I'll be watching very carefully how long the present new batteries last. Unfortunately I agreed with her.
Plex and Nvidia are working on a solution, but there is no announced delivery date. Also, at what point relative to the warning starting does the remote actually stop working? I have a Sony 4k professional camcorder and i see some playback sometimes too. . I have tried resetting the Nvidia Shield to factory settings and updating Plex etc does not make any difference. Its not buffering, it just looks like it has issues decoding the video See attached I have tried lots of 4K content and its almost happens with every single file. Why do you feel that open subtitles didn't work? I am having color banding issues.
I wish that our unit's batteries lasted even half the time of yours. I setup a unraid server from a old gaming rig, actually runs plex too, but I normally use shield for Plex functions. They look complex, but it's really easy once you get the hang of it and quite logical. Is the shield a wired connection only type of machine? Ok it seems to work fine when I turn off subtitles for this movie. Anybody else having the same bunch of channels popping up, time and time again, on the Home Page? I checked the video settings and it's on 1080p reccomended setting.
Best wishes, Dave Click to expand. It's going back unless I am missing something. I have used a few mate but confluence spmc stock skin is still available for download on kodi. I'm looking to play full size blu ray rips, that I'm planning on making with makemkv. I'm running low on options here Ted.
