Is there a way I can use conditional formatting or something to change the color of the cell once I enter a value or text into that cell? If you want to be able to delete other rows, you must specify that in the code: change the line ActiveSheet. I need to lock consecutive rows together before sorting.

The data in the cells in Column B can still be changed, regardless of the date because the locking won't occur until after the change is made. Entering the data is what drives the locking of the cells. Excel does not suit our needs at the moment. I can't even click on anything in the toolbar. The key, though, is keeping Excel-ignorant users from inadvertantly destroying the formulas and data in the middle section. If you save the changes automatically, that would be impossible.
After the entry and a new area in the sheet or workbook is selected cell A1 is locked. Im not concerned if they lose any data they've entered as I'm sure this will help them get the message to get out the file quicker. I want to allow user to edit every cell in the work sheet.
