His family owned a fishing ship, The Cascade, but when his father died many years ago, they had to sell the boat to pay for the funeral. Near the beginning When they go interview the search team from however many years ago that lady tells them there were two more people than they had known of that they had found. This all leads to the final conflict at sea, where Bill will certainly try to save the ship from her demise. It runs less than an hour but no time is wasted. Now that you have the backstory, it may be time to re-open the Dyatlov case file, because another body has just been found in the same region… and as of this writing, the identity of this corpse is unknown.
This is the kind of film they just don't produce anymore. The same insane hikers were present for the documentary film makers in the film and drove them to the portal. . Extreme weather prevented rescuers from reaching the other four bodies until months later, but they were reportedly in similar condition. The film even has a catchy song that is played throughout the feature.
Who were the people who found them? John Slater stars as a Bill Buckle, a simple dreamer without any material wealth. They plot to wreck the ship so they can claim the insurance money. They went through and ended up in the past too. This is an extremely well done, low budget British movie. But the transition does something to you. In the end the bodies that are found are the main characters who had gotten spit back in time which is why people were confused about the clothing as it was from the future. Why were the Russians confused about their clothes? All in all, it's a weird film. The original missing hikers simply found the portal, but in doing so they went to the past and ended up insane, which in turn ended up altering their own experiences later in the future. It changes you, drives you insane. They don't value the ship as Bill does. Fate enters when the Cascade is short crew and Bill is asked to work as a deck hand. Presently, The Cascade, is owned by a trio of fisherman. A sweet, gentle family movie with a moral. They consider the boat out of date and ineffective.
The haunting-like traits of that region are due to the people who have passed through the portal ending up going insane and with special abilities in the past. Please help me understand this. . . . . .
