Jan 18, 2015 Maybe if you can format the disk-but you loose data, maybe there is a program that can do it, probably in linux, or bootable itself, maybe ask acer for master password or something, if you still own original laptop and it runs then try to remove disk encryption while the hdd is accessible with laptop i think its in bios , otherwise the hdd may be unusable to prevent data theft. You can attempt to short the pins on the motherboard, but that is not as easy as it sounds and will require some research and disassembly of your machine, which i dont advise. I also did a back up to that Data but when i restore it … it goes back into same Drives ….
If you do not know the password, there is no way to access the hard drive. Hope this will be of much concern to others and answers would resourceful to others here. You can always remove the password without the master password but when you do it using that method the drive will be wiped. There are Data recovery softwares available on the net that can do the job, but it's mostly fairly expensive though. I know this because I'm a sed user work related, I have to have one even at home for the job, so I'd fall into the former. This password cannot be reset.
