The Encore is narrow across but expansive up and over, and that extends to the back seat, which flips and folds while the front passenger seat folds down. With its four-cylinder powertrain and wagon body at this price point, there's immense potential for a noisy, less-than-premium cabin in the Encore. To deliver an upscale tall wagon with all-weather traction, one with great gas mileage and city-friendly handling and size. Kids and adults can both appreciate it, especially the latter of whom count themselves as either sports fans or, well, Miranda Kerr fans. It's more of a two-piece combo, one that starts off tough, and tacks up trimly at its tail.
There's a fold-down armrest with its own cupholders--but more often, we think, the rear seats will be folded forward, turning their 18. We drove an all-wheel-drive Encore. That yields an estimated 33 mpg on the highway for front-wheel-drive models and 30 mpg with the optional all-wheel drive. You'll still hear conversations intimately, because the Encore excels at head room, not shoulder room.
Recall Date 2013-03-28 Description General Motors is recalling certain model year 2013 Buick Encore vehicles manufactured between December 9, 2012 and December 28, 2012, and equipped with a heated steering wheel. In the affected vehicles, the driver and passenger lap belt pretensioner cables may not lock in a retracted position, allowing the seat belts to extend when pulled upon. Our Take on the 2013 Buick Encore If the 2013 Buick Encore is a sign of more bite-sized premium crossovers to come, car shoppers have plenty to look forward to. Its electric steering takes the hint quickly, too, without deflecting or wandering too much on some vulnerable types of highways. The steering wheel fastener may not have been properly installed. The engine is mated to a standard Hydra-Matic 6T40 six-speed automatic transmission. The 2013 Buick Encore will offer contemporary styling, signature QuietTuning technology, and a host of features and amenities customers have come to expect from Buick.
The X1 and Q3 are longer and wider; heck, the Escape is nearly 10 inches longer. Std Std Engine: 4-Cyl, Turbo, 1. That brings us back to the Encore — a premium little trucklet with bona fide luxury options. The Encore is open to all sorts of unconventional arrangements, and that's its real talent: going from runabout to expandable backpack in nothing flat. All told, the family-friendly ad hits on a lot of levels.
At least the sound is great. The new 2013 Encore is powered by a new Ecotec 1. The added weight taps out the Encore's energy reserves completely, but it also damps out more of those rough patches--putting even more Buick in the Encore's road feel. The X1 and Q3 are longer and wider; heck, the Escape is nearly 10 inches longer. It leans, dives and squats; the tires surrender traction too soon, and the brakes have an inch of spongy pedal travel before reporting for duty. All About the Inside A key battle among entry-level premium cars is cabin quality, and the Encore delivers.
There's not enough sheetmetal on the 2013 Encore to do the same, and it struggles to come off as effortless and detailed at the same time. Air bag, Passenger Sensing System, sensor indicator inflatable. These services will be provided at no charge to the customer. This year, American brands are coming to Detroit in full force where they will be joined by a number of international automakers in presenting a steady diet of concept cars, production debuts, and just about everything else in between. Sit for a stint in the back seat, and the Encore comes into better focus. The Regal and Enclave set some high benchmarks for modern Buick style, but they're bigger cars with more room to play with conflicting design needs.
A 6-speed automatic transmission is standard, driving power to the front wheels. There are some places where they could have made it more luxurious, I guess, but overall the feel is really nice. Also standard are dual-zone automatic climate control, remote engine starting, and a memory system for the driver's seat and outside mirrors. They're right there, at elbow's distance. The downfall of some of these systems is too frequent alerts: aside from a stray beep at rapidly rising roads and a lack of warnings over faded double-yellow stripes, the Encore's setup wasn't so annoying that we'd avoid the features bundled with it parking sensors and Bose audio. The ride and handling are also very good.
Not content to let Fiat rule the niche with the Panda 4x4, Vauxhall today released its first teaser sketches of the tough-looking Adam Rocks concept, which is set to be unveiled next month at the Geneva Motor Show. The safety recall began on May 21, 2013. The turn radius and compact size are a dream come true when commuting and parking in the City. Maximum seat-height elevation, however, affords a high driving position with headroom to spare. And at some point, the collection of buttons on the dash to run secondary controls clutters the Encore's tight visual space. The 2017 now sports a new face, an updated interior, and some new in-dash technology.
