Our Take on the 2013 Mazda MazdaSpeed3 Editor's note: This review was written in January 2012 about the 2012 Mazda Mazdaspeed3. It's a big mistake if there is no 2014 speed3. You could get a smoking turbo which leads to smoke coming out the exhaust while at idle due to crankcase pressure forcing oil out of the turbo and getting into the exhaust. But definitely worth the buy! Transmission 2nd gear shifted hard until the software was updated. I don't really know if you could get this problem with a stock shifter plate. Reliable, powerful, nice sound system, and a terrific driver's seat that fits like a glove.
Daily driven put about 20k miles on and it's at 120k now. It has been everything I ever wanted out of this car. Good at just about everything well, except maybe reliability but great at nothing. Something else to consider - your location. But checking the sway bar is a start.
Primary Use: Commuting to work I Love It, Just A Few Modifications And It's Amazing! A Great Car For Speed Or Every Day! The styling is nice even though I wish there was a front mount or a hood scoop. Also, those clear lenses haze like crazy. I heard a loud burst sound and knew those were my tires. Time is sort of a factor here, my old car is on it last legs so it's going to be weeks not months before I have to make a decision. Plus developed rust on inside door panels due to improper factory clean;Mazda has a lot of problems with rust in this model 2005 4dr Hatch 119 kilowatts 2. I can't say that I would trade my caddy back for a Mazdaspeed3 again but I do say that I still miss my Mazda.
No, I don't think I've ever heard one. I also don't set the load to less than 1. This is the first year. In equal time and distance the Corrola had given me some light headache though. Boosting under 3k in 5th and 6th are definetaly a no, regardless of tune or upgraded parts. I would then check the rear shock and spring.
Don't go wot wide open throttle below 3k rpm, it's a common misconception that boost will harm the car but some boost below 3k rpm is fine. A good tuner can really change a lot of characteristics of how the car drives on a daily level, and imo its far better than stock. Still a great bargain in my mind, I've had a lot of fun in my car. It's certainly no slouch and is a lot more of a refined vehicle. I certainly prefer this car with a tune and mods.
The last problem you could get is the shift shaft seal on the shifter assembly below the shift plate could leak and you will see a puddle of transmission fluid build up in that area and you'll sell it as well. The Mazdaspeed package completely changes the base mazda3 dynamics, making this a seriously fun car. Best of luck on your search. From the sound it makes when you start it, to the intoxicating mid range power, 1 mile behind the wheel and you will be hooked. This has really affected my perception of this car. That's actually not true either.
Hey did you know that the cost of ownership for this beast really isnt that costly? They're super fun cars, a bit rust prone if you live anywhere with salt on the roads in the winter. The only problem I have is that I'm beginning to get addicted to speeding, something I never did with the 2005 Honda Accord I used to drive previously. The car has awesome options and is pretty reliable. If you can get over the silly grin and wacky seat color scheme, then there isn't much out there that can compare for under 25k! As well this car requires Premium 91+ octane gasoline. This car suprises alot of people how quick and reliable it is.
It happened to fail as I was driving through the coastal Oregon mountains, causing me to lose power steering intermittently on the twisties. Also, those clear lenses haze like crazy. Just what I wanted, light, quick, stable, not too gaudy, stealthy. This kit includes a new silicone bypass valve hose. My car is completely stock, I'm a 38 year old dad, and 90% of the miles on it are highway back and forth to work.
