It could be the pickup coil, electronic ignition module, high voltage coil or even a bad rotor in the distributor. I have no difficulty pointing the right direction for diagnostics but I need all the help you can give. Place the read lead of a multimeter on your S-10's positive battery terminal and place the black lead of the multimeter onto the negative battery terminal. With more info, we can go further. So i bought a new fuel pump , new fuel filter and a pickup strainer, install them.

Any ideas why the fuel pump is dying quicker and quicker? I already checked all the fuses they all check out ok. If not it's probably the ignition switch then test to see if starter is doing the same it's the yellow wire on neutral switch for input and purple for output.
Just have to firgure out timing and set it. Restarting the engine from this state may be difficult. So far what I have done, I checked and get no spark at plugs, Replaced cap,rotor,module. So I would move the shifter back and forth and it would turn over, but now even that doesn't work. I was getting the code intermittently for a few months and now it wont spark at all. Approximately after 100 miles it happened again, so he thinks that the problem is not in the transmission.

My original pump lasted 60k and 10 years. I have changed fuel pump,fuel filter,fuel relay,starter relay, and fuel pressure regulator. No luck it turns over just won't start I checked the valve there is still no fuel pressure. This is a famous tell tale with the losing power. My ideas all lead to the same road of bonked injectors spacifically something to do with heat soak and blah blah blah. It isn't as bad as it sounds. Disconnect them and see how it runs.
You could turn the key and all the normal dash lights come on, but when you turn the key to start it all the dash light go out and nothing, it does not crank. You can test the relay by jumping two connectors using a paper clip I saw a utube video. Truck started and ran nice. If these are flat, the problem is in the electrical system or the battery. What is the procedure for it being replaced? The ignition system on your S-10 consists of the battery, ignition switch, starter motor and starter solenoid. Then, finally after blowing a couple fuses, would start at all. Car is 20 years old now and is still in mint condition, although I had to replace the computer multiple times because of faulty wiring. Now I don't here the fuel pump come on. If lights come on or do not go out after the start up , note the shape of the light or the code that is shown. This disrupts the operation of the fuel pump, causing loss of feed pressure to the carburetor or fuel injection system, resulting in transient loss of power or complete stalling.
